Box it up. Take it out.

Im in the process of cleaning out and packing up my room so occasionally Ive being finding mementos from my childhood... jk its mostly old stuff from high school. But I did find a message in a bottle from my friend Rileigh from a beach trip she went on years ago. And as I was reading the message it spoke of how we had just started to become friends and how she was excited we had classes together freshman year...... now 4 years later here we are started freshman year of college together! wow time really has passed us by.

Today marks 10 years since my dad died, an entire decade gone in the blink of an eye. I felt the sadness would last forever alongside people's awkward and embarrassed apologies. Yet somewhere along the way the sorrow was replaced with nostalgia and then with reminiscence. meet a mormon (me).

This past week I had the wonderful opportunity to go see the church sponsored film, Meet The Mormons. The documentary follows the lives of six Mormons (Latter Day Saints) and their families through their day to day lives, and to show the world what makes Mormons tick.  I absolutely loved the movie and encourage everyone that hasn't had the chance to see it, to go! At the opening of the film a woman was questioning people on the streets of New York City as to what they knew about Mormons. Their answers were both comical and intriguing. Their perceptions of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints were based on hearsay, the media, and Mormons that they knew. It astounded me that so many people have the wrong idea about Mormons. Then I realized that they're simply learning from our example. It scares me to think that I might be the only LDS a person ever meets in their life. and what if I'm not representing the church in the right light?! Unfo

okay I know that nowhere on this outfit is there flowers, but this full ruby red skirt makes me feel like a pretty tulip.  It's been a bit rainy up here in the Burg so I knew that it was time to bring out the tights and say so long to my short summery dresses. I love the versatility of this skirt and how easily it can be paired with anything! my next outfit with this skirt WILL include cheetah print, just you wait. xoxo hails.
